North Backa District is an area in the north of Serbia towards Hungary with a total of 1,784 km2 and with the seat in Subotica. It also covers Backa Topola and Mali Idjos.
With extremely rich resources, this area has the best developed food industry and leading crop fields in the country. The bread and flour products factory "Fidelinka" and sweets factory "Pionir" are both in Subotica.
The Hungarian influences are obvious in all three municipalities and people are known for being bilingual in this area.
This is also the fastest economically growing area in Serbia.
